This just sounds too good to be true – what’s the catch?
There’s no catch. No one benefits from prescriptions that go unfilled – not the pharmacy, the patient, the health-care provider, nor the community. Pharmacies recognize that it’s better to offer a “managed” discount to customers that increase the likelihood of getting them into their stores, then not filling a prescription at all.
By honoring Humane Rx Cards, pharmacies…
- help improve medication adherence by making prescription medications more affordable for their customers.
- improve customer retention levels, build brand loyalty, and attract new customers.
- Bring people through the doors that spend money on other things while they’re in the store.
- are able to extend their compassion beyond the pharmacy counter, out into the community, by helping local animal shelters to fund their cause with each prescription discounted by the cards.
Where does the money come from that gets donated to the animal charities?
Cause Rx is paid a small fee, made by participating pharmacies that honor the cards, for each prescription discounted with the Humane Rx Card. It’s from this fee that we’re able to make a $2.00 donation to the animal charity listed on the card.
How do you use the Humane Rx Card?
Simply present your Humane Rx Card to your pharmacist each time you fill or refill prescriptions and ask for your discount. Make sure to ask the pharmacy NOT to substitute any other discount card, as the Humane Rx Card gives the best discounts, and at the same time, also donates $2 for each prescription discounted with your card.
What pharmacies accept the Humane Rx Card?

Do Humane Rx Cards need to be activated before using?
No, Humane Rx Cards are ready to use immediately.
Do Humane Rx Cards expire?

I already have another prescription discount card – why should I use the Humane Rx Card instead?
Beyond offering you a discount, nearly all prescription discount cards don’t offer any additional benefits to your community. The Humane Rx Card program was set up, from the beginning, to support worthy animal charities. Not to mention that it offers some of the best overall discounts in the industry.
